Make music with us.
We’re a friendly, ambitious Second Section brass band based in Dunston, Gateshead, welcoming committed players who want to perform, improve and be part of a supportive local band.
Play with us
A modern brass band with a strong community spirit.
Dunston Silver Band performs regularly across the North East at concerts, contests, civic occasions, community events, marches and celebrations. We play a varied programme, from traditional brass band music to modern pop, film and classical arrangements.
We’re a social bunch who enjoy playing music together and we often have various social events throughout the year.
Interested in joining?
Tell us what you play, your experience level and whether you’re looking to join permanently, return to banding or help with occasional engagements.
Who can join?
You!
We’re interested in hearing from brass and percussion players who want to be part of a friendly, active band. You might be an experienced player, returning after time away, or looking for occasional playing opportunities. We simply ask that you can read music and play your instrument to a decent standard.
You might be:
- An experienced brass or percussion player looking for a regular seat.
- A returning player wanting to get back into banding.
- A musician with orchestral, wind band or ensemble experience.
- A dep or occasional player interested in supporting concerts and engagements.
What to expect
Friendly rehearsals. Varied music. Regular performances.
We aim to be welcoming, organised and musically ambitious. Rehearsals focus on preparing for concerts, contests and local engagements while continuing to develop the band’s sound and confidence.
